Pain Therapy and General Medicine in Milan

Dr. Marco Tironi

I graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2011. During my academic career, I conducted a research thesis on therapies for Alzheimer’s Disease at the Department of Neuroscience of the University of Milano-Bicocca and San Gerardo Hospital in Monza. I am a co-author of publications in international journals of Neurology and Neuroscience.

I completed my medical specialisation in General Medicine in 2015. I focused on pain therapy and palliative care, becoming skilled in treating acute and chronic pain, and helping patients at the end of their lives. I also earned a Master’s Degree in Palliative Care from the University of Parma, where I learned to manage pain and symptoms for patients with serious illnesses. My training took me to specialist facilities in Rome, Florence, Ferrara, and Merate, where I gained valuable experience in supporting patients with complex needs.

I am always learning about how to manage both short-term and long-term pain. I use holistic methods alongside traditional treatments to help doctors assess patients and help patients understand why they are unwell.

Throughout my career, I have focused on treating patients as a whole, considering not just their physical health, but also their emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. I keep up to date with the latest scientific discoveries and holistic medical practices to provide my patients with a personalised approach to pain management. I am open to exploring the connection between psychology, biology, and the development of diseases and chronic pain.

I am ACLS certified at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, showing my expertise in emergencies.

I am a doctor registered with the Medical Association of Monza since 2012. I work as a General Practitioner and Pain Therapist at the Milano Isola Medical Centre in Milan.
